So Frenchy So Chic takes place on 12 January in Melbourne at Werribee Mansion with a line-up featuring disco queen Corine, perennial festival favourites Lou Doillon and Nouvelle Vague, soul prince Tété and a DJ set by Gotan Project’s Philippe Cohen Solal.

In Melbourne, some of the city’s coolest venues are curating the popular So Frenchy So Chic preordered hampers. Award-winning night spot Bar Margaux has designed the classic picnic hamper – filled with a Quiche Lorraine, bourguignonne brioche bun with ham hock, dijon mustard and watercress salad, raw green vegetable and avocado salad with mint dressing, tarte bourdaloue aux poires and salted caramel lolly – with vegetarian and gluten free hampers also available. L’Hôtel Gitan has designed the perfect hamper for charcuterie lovers, while Milk the Cow has hand-selected their favourite French fromage for the cheese hamper. Australian Masterchef winner Larissa Takchi has collaborated with Maille Mustard to create the world’s first black forest mustard macaron, which will be available exclusively at the Maille Food Truck at So Frenchy So Chic, along with the brand’s varieties of epicurean mustards paired with haute dogs.
For those who prefer to make their culinary decisions on the day, in Melbourne L’Hôtel Gitan will be serving up mushroom and mozzarella croquettes, Croque Monsieur with ham, cheese and smoked sausage, and hickory smoked salmon with crème fraiche, crunchy cucumber, capers and dill in a milk bun.
The Oysters Unplugged team will be freshly shucking juicy Sydney Rock Oysters and you can explore the tastes of France with raclette, crepes, calamari and warm brioche buns stuffed with delicious fillings. Enjoy freshly roasted nuts with sugar, sweet crepes, Popstic Ice Cream’s hand made ice creams, sorbets, icy poles and ice cream sandwiches and tacos, hand spun fairy floss, artisan gelato, brioche stuffed with fillings like milk chocolate and whipped cream or S’more with toasted marshmallow, jam and milo disc.
As always, the perfect complement to raclette, oysters and other gallic fare is fine wine, beer and bubbles – and once again So Frenchy has you sorted. The bar will be pouring Champagne from Laurent Perrier, So Frenchy So Chic’s own rosé de Provence, crisp whites, light reds, Kronenbourg beer, G’vine cocktails and plenty of other tipples to imbibe at your leisure.
Dedicated to joie for all ages, So Frenchy So Chic is a family friendly event with kids 12 and under welcome free of charge. The day includes activities galore for children, such as face painting, lawn games like croquet and pétanque, photo booths, arts and craft, giant chess boards, balloon making, large soap bubbles and drumming classes.
