Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens will again be transformed, for the 24th time, with the sights and smells of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
Expected to attract over 100,000 visitors the MIFGS is largest horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere with over 200 exhibitors and thousands of flowers. Here’s our pick of the bunch:
Beyond Blue
In 2019, Beyond Blue has become the charity partner of MIFGS. This heralds a new chapter of mindful, meditative gardens that are designed to combine form and function as they raise awareness for mental health and help calm the mind.
Landscape Design Show Gardens
This is probably the most impressive part of the MIFGS.
The Great Hall of Flowers
Instagram sensation The Plant Society will be back again, this year with a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory inspired plant installation. And, in case you were wondering, yes, there is a golden ticket up for grabs.
Make sure you bring your phone and have Instagram at the ready for this visually appealing part of the show.
Gardens By Twilight
Gardens by Twilight will return one night only on Friday 29th March, extending the hours of the Show to give city dwellers the rare opportunity to kick off after work drinks surrounded by floral installations, award-winning gardens and live music with a craft beer or glass of rosé in hand.
