Set in the grounds of the old Pentridge Prison in Coburg, which these days is more a kin to the warehouse conversions in Richmond.
The prison closed in 1997 and the old gatehouse for the notorious D Division is now the home to The Glass Den.
Glass Den has a very hipster charm to it and offers a great selection of brunch options. My favourite was the Rocky Road brioche french toast with matcha whipped mascarpone, fresh berries, chocolate soil, candied almonds and burnt marshmallows.
A must try for those in the north, and a great weekend drive from the rest of Melbourne.
