The Australian Tattoo Expo is returning to Melbourne from 30th November – 2nd December for a massive weekend of tattoos, art and entertainment. Proudly presented by Australian Tattoo Events, the biggest tattoo event in the country is bringing the most talented local and international tattoo artists together under one roof at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to showcase their work. So if you are planning to visit the expo and get inked by the best in the industry make sure to check out these numbing creams which can help numb the newly tattooed area, thus giving you the chance to enjoy the expo with your new tattoo.
The last stop on the 2018 Australian Tattoo Expo tour will feature over 300 of the most talented local and international tattoo artists, including artists travelling from as far and wide as Singapore, Russia, Germany, Korea and the USA to take part in the event.
Visitors will have the chance to meet their next (or first!) artist, watch them in action, research the latest trends, or even treat themselves to a tattoo on the spot! Artists will be selling prints and merch, and retailers will be in attendance selling streetwear, jewellery and more so visitors can get a head start on their Christmas shopping.
Charity partner, Survivor’s Ink, will be bringing their non-profit project to the Melbourne leg of the tour for the first time, providing breast cancer survivors with access to realistic cosmetic tattooing to aid in their physical and emotional recovery, completely free of charge.
The event will feature a jam-packed entertainment program, with the Fuel Girls returning to Australia for the LAST TIME to bring their high-octane fire and aerial show all the way from the UK. Fans of streetwear are in luck as Sullen Clothing bring the Sullen Angels competition to Melbourne for the very first time on Saturday, Rhys Gordon will be running seminars on the history of Australian tattooing, and tattoo competitions will take place each evening, including the fourth and FINAL round of the 2018 Australian Tattoo Series. Artists will continue battling it out for points to come out on top, with the overall winner taking home the title of 2018 Australian Tattoo Series Champion and a sweet $10,000 in prize money.
The Sh!ttest Tattoo Competition will be returning to the Expo, so come along and show off your ink that seemed like good idea at the time. You might just win something!
With so much to see and do, you definitely don’t want to miss out on this huge celebration of art, diversity and tattoo culture.
